AAFSW cordially invites you to a unique opportunity to become acquainted with the current and historic events occurring in Ukraine and “Poland’s Perspectives on Security in Europe.”

Our distinguished speaker will be His Excellency Marek Magierowski, Polish Ambassador to the United States.

This interesting and informative program will take place on October 3 at 11:00 AM East Coast Time in the Burns Auditorium at the State Department in Washington, D.C.

The cost is $15.00 per person for non-members and $10.00 for AAFSW members (final cost includes a small processing fee).

Please come to entrance at  21st Street NW of the State Department at approximately 10:45 AM.  As you enter, rather than reporting to the main desk, please go to the table (usually to your left) where we will be waiting to escort you. 

 The program presentation will begin at 11:00 AM and end approximately at noon.

Bio

Mr. Marek Magierowski graduated from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan with a degree in Hispanic Studies. He worked as a reporter, editor, and columnist for over 20 years. He held the following positions; Deputy Head of the Economic desk at “Gazeta Wyborcza,” Head of the Foreign Affairs desk and the business section at the “Newsweek Polska” weekly, and the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of “Forum.” From 2006-2011, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of “Rzeczpospolita.” An avid writer of columns on foreign policy for the “Uważam Rze” and “Do Rzeczy” weeklies. In 2015, he left journalism and joined the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland as an expert on public diplomacy.

 From June 2017 to May 2018, he held the position as Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Marek Magierowski served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to the State of Israel from June 25, 2018, to November of 2021.
