Introduction to Meditation and Mindfulness

Introduction to Meditation and Mindfulness
AAFSW Wellness Workshop, Tuesday, December 3, 1 – 2:30 p.m.
Randolph Towers Community Room, Level G-1 Arlington, VA 22203

Have you tried meditating but found it difficult? Do you have trouble quieting your mind? Would you benefit from being more relaxed and able to enjoy the present moment?

In this 1.5-hour workshop, you’ll learn and practice simple techniques to:
– Step back from racing thoughts
– Feel more centered in your body and your surroundings
– Appreciate and enjoy the present moment.

There’s no need to sit still for 20 minutes or “empty” your mind — these techniques work quickly and can be used wherever you are (for instance at a stressful event, before falling asleep, or while waiting in line).

This is part of a series of wellness workshops organized by AAFSW Program Chair Sheila Switzer. It is free with an optional donation box. RSVP to office@aafsw.org.

This workshop is led by Patricia Linderman, certified health coach, personal trainer, and AAFSW volunteer. To learn more about her coaching and stay informed about upcoming workshops, sign up for her email list at www.fierceafter45.com.
