AAFSW offers yearly scholarships to family members of our members; deadlines are in April.
Application forms are available early in the application year and are announced in our Global Link newsletter and on our website and Facebook pages.

Secretary of State Awards for Outstanding Volunteerism Abroad (SOSA)
AAFSW’s Secretary of State Awards honor Foreign Service employees and their loved ones who perform exceptional acts of service for their host country, for the expatriate community, or during times of crisis. The winners and nominees for the Secretary of State’s Award for Outstanding Volunteerism Abroad bear out the simple truth that small acts of selflessness can have a tremendous impact.
CCE-EFM Award
The AAFSW “Champions of Career Enhancement for Eligible Family Members” Award (CCE-EFM) was developed by AAFSW’s EFM Employment Committee to recognize and incentivize those who go above and beyond their job descriptions and routine daily activities to promote the cause of employment and career development for Foreign Service family members.

Dorman Award
Since 1993 AAFSW has honored former AAFSW President Lesley Dorman (1976-1981) for her accomplishments and untiring efforts on behalf of the Foreign Service community with the Lesley Dorman Award. The award recognizes an AAFSW member who has performed outstanding service in all aspects of the organization.
