2018 SOSA Winners to Be Honored November 15

This year we received eleven SOSA nominations from posts in four of the six geographic regions. AAFSW thanks those posts and individuals who took the time to recognize and nominate these volunteers.

The remarkable volunteer activities of all the nominees have had a profound impact on the Mission and host-country communities where they have served.

The winners, their project summaries, and photos will be posted on aafsw.org in the coming weeks, so please be sure to visit the website soon to find this additional information. The annual AAFSW Awards Ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 15, 2018.

Other awards to be presented at the ceremony include the Champion for Career Enhancement of Eligible Family Members (CCE-EFM) Award, the Tragen Award (administered by DACOR), and the Lesley Dorman Award (administered by AAFSW).

The awards ceremony will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. Refreshments will be served after the completion of the program at 12:00 p.m. From 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. members and guests can mingle and take the opportunity to personally chat with the 2018 award winners.

The program is free to all AAFSW members, Department of State employees, and guests of winners. Outside guests will be asked to pay $20. Please RSVP for the ceremony by Friday, November 2 by emailing office@aafsw.org or calling 703-820-5420. We hope you can join us to honor these amazing members of the Foreign Service community.
