12th Annual Passport DC Around the World Embassy Tour

Jan Du Plain, an active AAFSW member who also serves as the Embassy Liaison for Cultural Tourism DC, will help launch the 12th annual Passport DC Around the World Embassy Tour on Saturday, May 4, when more than 50 nations open their doors to the public. Jan invites AAFSW members and friends to participate in this event.

Travel the world in one day without leaving D.C…

On Saturday, May 4, more than 50 nations will open their doors during Passport DC Around the World Embassy Tour beginning at 10 a.m.

The participating embassies for Around the World Embassy Tour on Saturday, May 4 include Afghanistan, African Union, Albania, Argentina, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Botswana, Brazil, Cameroon, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Cote D’Ivoire, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Gabon, Guatemala, Guinea, Guyana, Haiti, Indonesia, India, Iraq, Kenya, Korea, Kosovo, Libya, Mexico, Morocco, Myanmar, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Qatar, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Uganda , Uzbekistan and more!

Hours at all the embassies are: 10 am to 4 pm.

“Passport DC offers authentic learning opportunities for the thousands of people who attend these events. It’s a global buffet of arts and culture,” according to Steve Shulman, executive director of Cultural Tourism DC, the producing organization. “Visitors will find a tremendous selection of music, dance, art, handcrafts, and even some very tasty samples to eat and drink,” he said.

Passport DC commemorates International Cultural Awareness Month in the District of Columbia. It runs from May 1 through 31 and offers an outstanding array of cultural activities presented at embassy open houses, street festivals, performing arts venues, museums, and special receptions throughout the District.
