Edward Pierce

Edward Pierce received the 2025 Lesley Dorman award in recognition of his outstanding contributions and dedicated service to AAFSW while modernizing the Association's information technology platforms. Edward has been a member of AAFSW since he joined State in 2006, and became AAFSW's Information Management Resources (IRM) committee chair in 2023. Edward mirrors the spirit of the Lesley Dorman award through his dedication and innovative initiatives, which will have a long-lasting impact on the organization.

Edward is a Diplomatic Security Engineering Officer currently serving in Washington as Division Director of the Security Countermeasures Division. He has previously served at U.S. diplomatic missions in Senegal, Mexico, Pakistan, Hungary, China, Iraq, and Uruguay; and in Washington, DC as a Career Development Officer (CDO).

Before joining public service, Edward spent 15 years in France developing management strategies for U.S. companies expanding into European markets. A native of Arizona, he holds an MBA in International Business from Thunderbird, a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and a BA in Spanish from the University of Arizona.
