Screening of the Film “Ali and Nino”, Friday, June 30

The Associates of the American Foreign Service Worldwide (AAFSW) cordially invites you to the screening of the historical and romantic film, “Ali and Nino.”

This outstanding film screening will take place on Friday, June 30 at 10:30 a.m. in the George Marshall Auditorium at the State Department.

The widely-acclaimed film is based on the epic love story of the 20th century masterfully told by Kurban Said. The story of love between an Azerbaijani Muslim and a Georgian Christian captures the very soul of the Caucasus, defies stereotypes and is set against unfolding of the world’s history before and during World War I.

The film by award winning director Asif Kapadia features an amazing international cast including Mandy Patinkin, Adam Bakri, Maria Valverde, Halit Ergenc, and other stars.

RSVP by Monday, June 26 to office@aafsw.org All attendees without a State Department badge will need to provide their Diplomatic ID, driver’s license number, or passport number and date of birth to submit to the Office of Security at the State Department. Additionally, everyone attending should send a check made out to AAFSW of $10.00 to defray catering costs to AAFSW Reservations, 4001 North Ninth Street, Suite 214, Arlington, VA 22203.

Please enter at the 21st Street entrance, which is on the EAST side of the State Department building. (between C and D Streets NW), near D Street. We’ll be checking guests in there.
