“From Russia with Love” AAFSW Welcome Tea
On Sunday, April 22, 2018, during a lovely afternoon, AAFSW members welcomed the families that had recently returned to the USA from their posting in Russia. It was a wonderful time to mingle and get to know new people and find out important information regarding a short or long stay in the DC area. Our AAFSW Board members dazzled the guests with rare fancy teacups and brought many delicious treats to share!
The beautiful salon in Falls Church was specially decorated in a “From Russia with Love” theme! Besides laughter and good conversation, we all shared coffee, tea, handmade scones with cream cheese, honey, marmalade, and whipped cream, cucumber sandwiches, crab cakes, cupcakes, cookies, mango juice, orange juice, lemon juice, and even some chocolate baklava!
Deb Bernlohr, the CLO who had just returned from the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, and her husband John really enjoyed the AAFSW Welcome “Russian” Tea and expressed their gratitude to the AAFSW members and its Board for organizing such a warm welcome and a fun afternoon get-together for all the diplomatic families returning suddenly from Russia to the USA.
AAFSW welcomes all our new friends and wishes them a very pleasant stay in the USA!
