On October 5, 2023, AFSA held its annual Awards Ceremony at the Department of State in the Dean Acheson Auditorium. The American Foreign Service Association honored multiple foreign service officers with a variety of titled awards.
Our thoughts and prayers and deepest condolences to the families of those who tragically lost their lives in the recent terror attack in Israel. AAFSW stands in solidarity during this time of grief and loss.
We also fervently hope for the swift and safe return of the hostages with their families soon, ending this distressing ordeal. Our thoughts remain with them during this challenging time.
At the invitation of AAFSW, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova delivered an inspiring speech on September 12 to over 100 people in the State Department’s Burns Auditorium.
AAFSW is thrilled the government shutdown has been averted, and our programs are maintained moving forward.
The Paris 2024 program Games of the XXXIII Olympiad (French: Jeux de la XXXIII Olympiad), Sports and Diplomacy for a Better World, will be rescheduled soon. Meanwhile, AAFSW is pleased to share the official video of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Inauguration ceremonies.
