Deborah Miller of Fairfax, Va., representing her birth state of New Mexico in the Ms. Senior America National Pageant, was crowned Ms. Transatlantic Senior 2016, by a celebrity panel of judges at the Super Star Theater, Resorts Hotel and Casino, in Atlantic City on October 22, 2015.

Ms. Miller was awarded the top talent award from the thirteen finalists from the United States and the United Kingdom, singing “Chi il bel sogno di Doretta” from Puccini’s La Rondine. The BBC-sponsored search for that special international senior woman had a separate panel of judges from the other two competitions, and culminated in the selection of Deborah Miller, who has sung sixteen leading opera roles, including a world premiere, plus sacred music, barbershop, and Broadway.

Deborah’s other interests include teaching voice and piano, and participating in Jazzercise, softball, yoga, riding horses, playing bridge, gardening, and lots of travel. Deborah’s volunteer work includes supporting Retired and Senior Volunteer Programs, Feed the Homeless, Senior Olympics, TESOL, Reading Rug, AAFSW, and many church initiatives.
