Change Your Body, Change Your Life

Patricia Linderman gave a great performance and presentation to “Change Your Body, Change Your Life,” detailing how to lose weight and keep it off, look good, feel great, and live a longer, healthier, happier life. Patricia lost 40 pounds and has kept it off, qualifying her for the National Weight Control Registry. She reached her goal by her pure willingness and determination to feel good and be healthy. It was a fantastic workshop and anyone who missed it and wants more info please contact AAFSW’s office.

Patricia said that the secret to reach the ultimate goal of the weight you want to be is to create your own path, your own way to permanently change your habits and the things you eat. You’ll need to take a direction that will be suitable for your own wants and to create positive change in your body and your life. It takes effort and determination with daily exercise and healthy eating — but Patricia says that once you get started, it gets easier because you feel better and enjoy your new habits. Other healthy activities also help, such as meditation, positive thinking, walking, hiking, swimming, good sleep, relaxation, massage, and others that will reduce stress and keep you on a healthy path.

There is a saying that we are what we eat, and of course what we eat also dominates our health and our looks and also our ability to do things, like gardening, climbing a set of stairs or even dancing, and even our moods. Patricia recommends turning away from refined carbs (such as bread, baked goods, pasta, white rice and sweet drinks), and filling up instead on all of the wonderful diversity of whole foods: especially a rainbow of vegetables and fruits, nuts, grass-fed beef and dairy, wild-caught fish, free-range chicken and eggs.
