Event Recap: Overview of Pakistan, Slovak and U.S. Relations

The first of AAFSW’s annual Ambassador’s Speaker Series of 2022 took place online on January 21. It was co-hosted with DACOR. The guest speakers were HE ambassador Dr. Asad Majeed Khan of Pakistan and HE ambassador Radovan Javorcik of Slovakia. The ambassadors gave an in-depth analysis of the political and commercial relations between their countries  and the US. Given the important strategic location of both Pakistan and Slovakia they explained the complexities of their countries’ diplomatic relations with their neighbors.   Application Deadline: April 15, 2022 The AAFSW Merit Scholarship for College StudentsCurrent college freshmen, sophomores or juniors continuing college in Fall 2022 are eligible for this scholarship. Professional Development Opportunity: AAFSW and COX Foundation Oral History Project

As part of an Una Chapman Cox Foundation project on American Diplomacy and the Foreign Service, AAFSW is looking to train two individuals to produce topic-focused oral histories. These oral histories differ from traditional ones because they feature a discussion and insights on a topic specific to Foreign Service life. They also run up to a maximum of three hours.
