With all our membership’s help and support, 2018 was a very successful year for AAFSW: In February, AAFSW was recognized as an Employee Organization of the Department of State. New Children’s Book Written by EFMs: The Adventurer’s Club

Authors and EFMs Katie Mastin and Julianne Price recently published The Adventurer’s Club, a book specifically geared toward “chronic movers” like families in the Foreign Service community. As mothers of small children, they found that the existing literature about moving lacked a focus on the exciting parts of moving and with their new book they wanted to give parents positive language to talk about moving. Holiday Merriment on December 7

              On December 7 AAFSW members, spouses, and friends enjoyed a festive evening celebrating the holiday season. The holiday tree, red and green décor, and strands of colorful lights got everyone in a holiday mood, and the Brazilian music playing in the background added to the party atmosphere. After everyone had enjoyed good food and conversation, FBS Group Chair Ani Torres led fun party games that had everyone laughing and cheering.
