The Associates of the American Foreign Service Worldwide (AAFSW) cordially invites you to a unique and beautiful cultural program, presented by the ASEAN Women’s Circle (AWC), which includes 10 Asian countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam.
This wonderful program will take place on Friday, May 26 at 10:30 a.m. in the Dean Acheson Auditorium at the State Department, where you will have the opportunity to learn about and admire the cultures of the ASEAN nations.
In line with the spirit of the ASEAN motto “One Vision, One Identity, One Community,” the AWC Washington DC member countries will showcase their colorful cultures. Aside from the cultural performances, an array of unique and distinct mouth-watering dishes from the 10 ASEAN countries will also be presented.
All attendees without a State Department badge will need to submit driver’s license number or passport number, and date of birth to office@aafsw.org no later than Tuesday, May 23, plus a check (made out to AAFSW) for $5 per person for members, and $10 per person for non-members, to our headquarters at 4001 North Ninth Street, Suite 214, Arlington VA, 22203.
Please come to the 23rd Street entrance of the Department of State (between C and D Streets NW), where you will be checked in.
We will have an informal social time starting at 10:30 a.m., where you can taste food from the 10 participating countries, followed by the presentation at 11:00 a.m. and ending no later than 1:00 p.m.
