AAFSW/FBS Thanksgiving Luncheon Invitation, November 9

The AAFSW/Foreign Born Spouses cordially invite you to celebrate with us the traditions of Thanksgiving with a delicious luncheon at the residence of one of our members on Wednesday, November 9 at 11:30 a.m.

RSVP to AAFSW office@aafsw.org by Monday, November 7 and please share with us your favorite dish to make for this special celebration. When you RSVP, you will receive information about the location.

Thanksgiving Day is the first United States holiday ever celebrated by presidential proclamation.
President George Washington proclaimed November 26, 1789 as Thanksgiving Day after Congress asked him to name a day of public thanksgiving and prayer for the time of prosperity, freedom and hope after the long war.

There were other dates before this when the colonists celebrated Thanksgiving. Let’s review our Thanksgiving knowledge and have fun, and if you would like to dress up, please feel free to do so and illustrate your personage. Be sure to bring your questions and answers: let’s make it a fun celebration.

Why did the turkey cross the road?
Why didn’t the turkey eat any supper?

We look forward to seeing you.
