Reviews of Washington DC Corporate Apartments

The Gallery at Rosslyn

Reviewed by Krista Tacey, Department of State.

When did you stay at the apartment? For how long?

I arrived in late June 2004 and depart in late March 2005.

What were the advantages of staying at the complex?

Short walk to FSI/Main State shuttle, DS offices, Rosslyn Metro (Orange and Blue lines). Excellent fitness facility for the average exerciser, across the street from a Gold's Gym for the more advanced athelete. Concierge staff extremely friendly. Maintenence needs met promptly. New, clean and well-equipped. Dogs and cats permitted.

What were the disadvantages?

There is a beautiful event room - which costs $300 to use if you have more than 4 people over!

Is this a good place to stay with children? Are the schools, play areas, etc. acceptable?

We have no children, so I can't really say. It is a highrise, with very little play area, although there is a small playground up the street.

Can you get by without a car at this complex? With just one car?

Absolutely! Metro is close. You can walk across the bridge to Georgetown or up Wilson to Clarendon in 10 minutes.

Do the rental rates fall within per diem? For how long?

It all depends. If you lease directly from Gallery, price range is $1700-$2500 per month. There is a minimum 10 month lease. We went with a corporate housing firm (Bridgestreet). They worked with us to reduce optional services after the first 2 months, so we will be paying about $2500/month including utilities from month 3 onwards.

Do you have any specific advice for people who will be staying at this complex? Are some buildings more desirable than others, for example?

Try to get a courtyard view. Our apartment faces the street and it can get quite loud with the windows open.
