2017 AAFSW Merit Scholarships

This year AAFSW is offering two merit scholarships of $2,000 each to current college students who are in their freshman, sophomore, or junior year, and one Judy Felt Memorial Volunteerism Scholarship for $1,000. Additionally, there is a $500 award for Best Essay written for the applications.

The AAFSW Merit Scholarship for College Students

Current college freshmen, sophomores or juniors continuing college in fall 2017 are eligible for this scholarship. The application is on the AAFSW website here. Two scholarships are available for $2,000 each.

The Judy Felt Memorial Volunteerism Scholarship

This scholarship is open to college students who apply for the AAFSW Merit Scholarship, and also to high school seniors/gap year students. One scholarship is available for $1,000. College students who submit an application for the AAFSW Merit Scholarship are automatically considered for the Judy Felt Scholarship.

High school seniors applying for the Judy Felt Memorial Volunteerism Scholarship should fill out this application describing their volunteer activities.

All applicants must be a family member of a current AAFSW member. Applications and supporting materials are due by April 4, 2017.

Please note that the AAFSW Merit Scholarships are available to current college students only.

There are high school merit scholarships available through FSYF, with an application deadline of February 6. More information is on the FSYF website: fsyf.org.
