AAFSW Youth Merit Scholarships

 

The following AAFSW scholarships are available, with application deadlines in April.

Application forms are available early in the application year and are announced in our Global Link newsletter, and on our website and Facebook page.

In 2018, AAFSW introduced a New Merit Scholarship for students with special needs: AAFSW is pleased to announce its latest initiative: “Twice Exceptional” Merit Scholarship for $2,500. This AAFSW scholarship is designed to reward Academic Excellence for high school seniors/gap year students and / or college freshmen and sophomores who have an Individualized Educational Program (IEP) or equivalent program.

In addition, AAFSW offers two $2,500 merit scholarships to current college students who are in their freshman, sophomore, or junior year, and one $1,500 Judy Felt Memorial Volunteerism Scholarship. Additionally, there is a $1,000 award for Best Essay written for the applications.

The AAFSW Merit Scholarship for College Students
Current college freshmen, sophomores or juniors continuing college in the Fall are eligible for this scholarship. Two scholarships are available for $2,500 each.

The Judy Felt Memorial Volunteerism Scholarship
This scholarship is open to college students who apply for the AAFSW Merit Scholarship, and also to high school/gap year students. One scholarship is available for $1,500. College students who submit an application for the AAFSW Merit Scholarship are automatically considered for the Judy Felt Scholarship. High school students may also apply for the Judy Felt Memorial Volunteerism Scholarship.

Best Essay Award
All AAFSW scholarship applicants will be automatically considered for the $1,000 Best Essay Award.

All applicants must be a family member of a current AAFSW member. Applications and supporting materials for the 2018 merit scholarships are due by April 15, 2018.
