Media Director: As AAFSW's Media Director, Kim Furnish manages the content on www.aafsw.org and in AAFSW's print newsletter, Global Link . She also oversees Livelines, AAFSW's online discussion group.
Webmaster: Kelly Midura is AAFSW's Media Production Manager. She webmasters www.aafsw.org and produces AAFSW's monthly print newsletter, Global Link. After tours in Bolivia, Guatemala, Zambia, El Salvador, and the Czech Republic, she is now settled in Reston, Virginia. Website Founder: Melissa Hess is the principal creator of Foreign Service Lifelines and the former Managing Editor of www.aafsw.org. She is also an English professor and Registered Nurse. With an M.A. in Education, she has taught English as a Second Language in Europe, Africa, and the U.S. She has also worked as a newsletter editor, cross-cultural trainer, curriculum developer and educational writer. Her medical background includes working in Medical-Surgical, Operating Room, and Hospice nursing. She and her Foreign Service husband have served in Kaduna, Nigeria, Leningrad, U.S.S.R., Oran, Algeria, Sinai, Egypt, and Kiev, Ukraine. Email her at melissa@aafsw.org.
Contributing Editor: Patricia Linderman has an M.A. in German literature and works overseas as a free-lance writer and translator. She has also worked as an educational writer, CLO Coordinator, language teacher, and newsletter editor. Her articles have appeared in American Diplomacy, State Magazine, Foreign Service Journal, and other publications. With her Foreign Service husband and two sons, she has served in Port of Spain, Santiago, Havana, and Leipzig.
