Each month AAFSW's print newsletter, Global Link, offers eight pages of information related to Foreign Service life. We include useful contact information, reports on regulation changes and proposals that affect families, association and member news, profiles of outstanding Foreign Service family members, and tips on a wide range of topics that affect the Foreign Service community. Global Link complements rather than duplicates the material on this website.
If you want to stay informed, be sure to join AAFSW and receive Global Link ten times each year. Meanwhile, your membership will help the organization continue its goals of improving quality of life for Foreign Service family members and retirees everywhere.
Global Link is produced by Kelly Bembry Midura, AAFSW Media Production Manager, in conjunction with Kim Furnish, AAFSW Media Director. Back issues are archived on the website in PDF format for the convenience of AAFSW members only. For more information email newsletter@aafsw.org.
Founded in 1996 by Melissa Hess, a Foreign Service spouse, this website is a primary online resource and community for American diplomatic family members. The site contains AAFSW membership information, an extensive selection of links, book reviews, Washington DC temporary housing information, a summary of State Department resources, a members-only section, and a growing archive of articles and essays written by and for Foreign Service family members.
The site is now webmastered by Kelly Bembry Midura, AAFSW Media Production Manager, in conjunction with Kim Furnish, AAFSW Media Director. Its companion email discussion group, Livelines, with over 2,000 members, is an indispensable resource for the Foreign Service community. For more information, email editor@aafsw.org.
